COME JOIN THE PARTY on JUNE 17, 1-3pm

Come celebrate the launch of Twisted Together by an EF-4 under the tent. This community-written book commemorates the anniversary of the Wadena County tornado through stories, interviews, and pictures.  Now is your chance to purchase the tornado book you all have been hearing about and meet some of the team who worked on this book.

Hosted at the Wadena County Historical Society, Museum and Genealogy Research Center at 603 Jefferson Street North (North of the Armory), this special FREE event will feature:

·         Delicious food from the Harvest Thyme Bistro

·         A live jazz performance by Rhonda Laurie and Band

·         Raffle Prizes

·         Your first chance to buy Twisted Together by an EF-4!

*      You can also tour the museum free of charge

All books purchased will benefit the Long-term Recovery Committee and the Wadena County Historical Society, Museum and Genealogy Research Center.

TWISTED TOGETHER by an EF4

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Come and see the NEW Wadena County Historical Society Museum at 603 Jefferson Street North just north of the Armory. The new Genealogy Research Room has a link to Ancestry.com.  We will now be offering Ancestry.com to the public to search for their roots.

The new addition in the Railroad Room is the Aldrich Depot, in the Country Store is the 1896 Barn Wall in honor of Larry Wegner’s century farm of the Bertha area.  You’ll want to see Stitchin’ Post/Nationalities where we have our newest display being a Vintage House.  That house honors the St. Ann’s School that was demolished last year, the Wadena United Methodist Church by using their 1911 wood shingles on the Vintage House and wood from the Kane farm of Bluffton.  You can view the archaeology treasures from the 1700’s Hudson Bay Company in the Country Store.  The Two Nations Indian Village is in our lower level and so much more in the 15 different rooms.

This event is free to the public.  We will not be charging any admission to this Open House.  We want every one to have a chance to see our NEW museum.  Refreshments and snacks will be provided for all attendees.

The Wadena County Historical Society will be hosting their Third Annual Christmas Past Tea & Open House on Thursday, December 2^nd for the public from 4:30PM to 7:30PM.

Wadena Tribune of November 17, 1904 at the Wadena Cracker Company • 210 Colfax Avenue Southeast, Wadena, Minnesota.

Plant is damaged to the extent of $8,000 at 10 o’clock Sunday morning. FACTORY MAY NOT RESUME. Plans for the future will not be known until insurance is adjusted.
