Great Northern —Laying track North of Wadena
This photo is in the files of the Wadena County Historical Society and it will give you some idea what a big job it was to lay the railroad tracks. The photo was taken in 1890 and the Great Northern is laying track north of Wadena.
If anyone is interested in telling their story whether about railroad or any other subject or a biography (life story), the Wadena County Historical Society would be glad to interview you. We can either record, type, do an audio or do a video (DVD) of your life story at no charge to the story teller. Nostalgia is proven to make people happy and if we don’t record these stories they may never be available, lost forever, and never put into history.
Please contact Sandi Pratt who likes to hear all those life stories so she can preserve them at the Wadena County Historical Society, 603 Jefferson St. N, Wadena, phone 218-631-9079, e-mail 603wchs@arvig.net. You may also have a copy of the recorded family story for your keeping.
